The cyclists who were killed were identified by the authorities as Erin Michelle Ray, 39; Michael Murray, 57; Aksoy Ahmet, 48; Thomas Chamberlin Trauger, 57; and Gerrard Nieva, 41. All of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, 34. She was found Wednesday at a hostel on Santa Teresa Beach in Provincia de Puntarenas. The Marshals Office has said she will be deported and returned to the United States. We ask that you please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Gravel cycling star Anna Moriah “Mo” Wilson was killed in mid May. Her alleged killer, Kaitlin Marie Armstrong, eluded authorities until July when she was captured and arrested. She pled not guilty but is currently being held until the trial, which is set to start in June 2023.
It is absolutely tragic when someone loses their life needlessly, and my heart goes out to the family and friends of Moriah Wilson. I can’t imagine what they must be going through.

AJ has been through two capital murder trials already, and we believe that a third trial would be unnecessarily cruel and burdensome for him.
